A taste of the Caribbean in every sip!
Not to be confused with the small edible green plant of the same name, sorrel is a beverage brewed from the deep magenta calyces of the Hibiscus sabdariffa flower.
On its own, sorrel has a tart, cranberry-like flavour, and at Christmastime in the Caribbean, the dried flowers are steeped for hours with various spices, cooled and then sweetened liberally with sugar—and often enhanced with copious amounts of rum.
While the exact recipe varies from country to country, the essence of islands is captured beautifully in this aromatic tisane, so you can enjoy a cup of this uniquely refreshing beverage, year-round, hot or cold.
